t r u t h o u t | In the past several weeks, we've seen Walmart workers walk out on the job, McDonald's employees tell their bosses that "enough is enough," and Hostess bakers hold out against corporate pressure.
At Truthout, we reported these stories not based on press releases or talking points, but using the words of the people who move boxes, stock shelves and bake cupcakes.
We tell the stories of ordinary workers from the ground up because we're funded by donations from real people - readers like you.
That's how we can tell the stories of Tyrone Robinson, the only worker to walk out of his southside Chicago Walmart, and Mike Hummell, who credits his unionized job at Hostess with helping him climb out of poverty.
