t r u t h o u t | A year ago today, a few thousand people took over a small corporate park in lower Manhattan. This encampment became the most influential people's movement since the 1930s against the exploitation and violence created by our economic system.
*The reason Occupy Wall Street was different, and the reason it worked, was the refusal to go quietly when the police told these brave people to disperse.*
Alone, bravery is almost impossible in the face of police brutality, state repression and money-power. But together, our strength grows exponentially.
