t r u t h o u t | In the day and age of great bailouts, mass ecosystem destruction, global climate change and disintegrating democracy, it's no wonder why most media outlets lie and obfuscate. It's the same logic that kept the government from prosecuting the criminal bankers, and which keeps Americans consuming happily away. If you tell the truth, the thinking goes, you'll bring on collapse.
This so-called "logic" is the root of the problem.
