As many of you know, Truthout's website has recently been hit with a number of severe "DDOS" attacks from an unknown source. We're very grateful for all of your support and words of encouragement throughout this challenging time.
Early this morning, we migrated our website to a sturdier, more defensible web platform. We're hopeful that this new home will enable us to withstand the ongoing DDOS assault, and stand up to any future attacks we may face.
As you're using Truthout's site over the next few days, you'll notice some small changes in its appearance and functionality. The functions that were damaged during the attacks (such as the email and print options on article pages) should now be working smoothly, and our Art and Video archives are now available in full - they're accessible in the menu bar at the top of the homepage. Most importantly, you should now be able to access the site without difficulty.
If you have questions about the switch or are experiencing any issues with the new platform, please don't hesitate to contact us; just write to geeks@truthout.org.
As we continue to publish independent news and commentary - journalism that calls out corruption and plants seeds for a new, very different world - we expect to continue making powerful enemies. We are so lucky to be able to count all of you, our community members, as our friends. With your support, we'll be able to continue our work for many years to come.
