ICF SERVICES

28 Seymour Place, London

SE24 7NT

Dear Brothers & sisters,

Greetings in the name of Humanity. Our Organisation is a Humanitarian,
Non religious and non Governmental organisation based in London, and We
have just opened a branch office in Banda Aceh province in Indonesia.
We undertake care for underprivileged people who are traumatised by
natural disasters. We were involved in the rehabilitation of the
traumatised citizens of Bam in the Islamic Republic of Iran when the country was
hit by a devastating Earthquake in the middle of last year.

We are much troubled as majority of the world is, at the devastation
which the Tsunami of December 26th 2004 unleashed at the inhabitants of
the impoverished Banda aceh Province of Indonesia and twelve other
countries including coastal parts of Somalia in Africa. The world's most
powerful earthquake in more than 40 years struck deep under the Indian
Ocean off the west coast of Sumatra, triggering massive tsunamis that
obliterated villages and seaside resorts in more than 10 countries.

Tourists, fishermen, homes and cars were swept away by walls of water
that rolled across the Bay of Bengal, unleashed by the 9-magnitude
quake. The catastrophic earthquake and resulting tsunamis have killed
thousands and left millions of families in Southeast Asia grieving, homeless,
and vulnerable. The earthquakes and tsunami in the Bay of Bengal has
resulted in a tragedy beyond the scope of anything witnessed in our
lifetime. It is in times of such tragedy that ICF services want to stand in
the face of danger and help those in need. We want to do something to
make a difference in at least one person’s life. We want to live out the
heart of Christ and allah in a world reeling from pain and anguish. We
have received many calls from donors asking how they can help. A common
desire is to donate medical supplies, food, clothing, blankets and of
course, time, to go over to hardest hit regions and get to work. While
all the offerings we receive are appreciated and well intentioned what
is most needed at this time is money. God has blessed the finances of
many in the United States of America, and to whom much is given, much is
expected. When it comes to Gifts in Kind (GIK), i.e. food, clothing,
blankets, etc…, there is an expense that is often overlooked: inspecting
donated items, determining which are suitable for shipment, along with
transportation and distribution costs. We have found that the most
effective and efficient way to obtain supplies is to provide aid workers in
country with the funds to procure supplies locally. This approach
allows the items most needed to be obtained, as well as stimulating the
local economy struggling to get back on its feet

At this hour, our global emergency team is delivering critical food,
water, and other provisions to survivors in devastated areas, including
Indonesia's Aceh province.

Much as huge amounts of money have been pledged to the countries
affected by this disaster, it can not completely wipe out the scars in the
minds of the survivors especially children who bore the brunt of this
natural mayhem.

ICF services is busy involved in setting the ground work for
multi-year presence in the worst hit region of tsunami stricken Southeast Asia.
Indonesia received the hardest blow of the countries that faced the
wall of water that slammed coastlines, claiming over 100,000 lives with
exact numbers possibly never known. By now, everyone is familiar with the
horror of this tragedy, relief efforts are in motion and the focus is
beginning to shift from recovery of survivors to reconstruction of
lives.

We appeal to your Good will to assist this organisation by sending
aid that will be channelled to the survivors on the ground, especially to
aid those that survived in those remote areas and atolls that were
completely submerged by the Indian ocean.Whenever possible, ICF services
utilises the presence, strengths and human resources of the locals to
respond to urgent humanitarian needs. Local aid groups have been
established in the communities they serve and can offer a ready assistance in
times of crisis. They have an insider’s knowledge of the catastrophe
they are facing and who is most affected.

We now appeal to you in the outside world especially to you in the
developed countries. We appeal to you Private citizens and individuals. We
know that your Governments has sent in money. It is now time for you to
play your part in this worldwide relief effort as we have heard and
seen on the television how humanity stood together regardless of race,
religion or language. Tourist helped locals, and locals helped tourists.
So please send in whatever amount of money you can raise to assist the
needy and traumatised nothing at this point is too small.

For our supporters, the best way to respond is through prayer and
financial support. Pray for the survivors and the families of the victims,
that the Lord’s grace will be sufficient for them, for the aid workers
that God will strengthen them through this time.
