Hits seems to give wrong number

The hits doesn't always seem to give the right number.
For example, for my logs (of which I have 8), the hits number
is 6 in each case. I have 1 Unseen log, 2 Closed Logs, and
5 Cancel logs.
Hits should probably exlude both "Closed" and "Cancel" logs,
not just "Closed" logs as seems to be the case.
Can we fix this?
