Notes from 11/04 meeting (Barbara, Debi, Wade)
- Updated project plan (see below). Specifically, new items added to the
Scopus GUI, web/oracle and email/oracle applications.
- Barbara to conduct QA on the ragone/ho Scopus GUI changes.
- Four page Quick Guide written, should install on project notebook page.
- Student training scheduled for 11/4
- Decided to feed the computing-help@mit.edu and sap-help@mit.edu mailing
lists to Oracle, without customer acknowledgements as a test of this
function. Looking for target date of 11/7.
- Debi will complete the password change for existing accounts by
11/7. Filemaker conversion looks good, minor changes needed.
- Peter/David to complete the Scopus GUI changes
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Project dates and milestones:
- Dates: Still looking for final date for Scopus development is end of day
Monday November 10, 1997.
- Cut-over from Filemaker to Oracle to begin after 5:00 pm on
Friday, November 14, 1997. Probably completed over the weekend and
production available on Monday morning November 17, 1997.
- Web/Oracle application is in good shape. May be some missing fields
that need to be added. Development priority will shift to completing
the email/oracle application with possible "live" testing before the
November rollout date. The web/oracle application will continue to
proceed after the Scopus rollout.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The critical path items to manage are:
- Set final date for development changes (NOTE: timeline leaves little time
for development, therefore, need to identify showstoppers versus items
that can be changed for a future release)
- Testing, testing, testing: Specifically the Scopus GUI and with
regards to the Filemaker legacy data import. Goal is to ensure
continuity of business.
- Identification of resources to ensure transition to Service and
committment of Delivery resources to ensure a phase 2 release.
