Scopus WinNT
November 4, 1997
Scopus is a help desk application that depends on access
to an Oracle database. In order to run this application,
you need a database account.
A few notes:
- This application will work under Windows 95 and Windows NT.
- This release of Scopus requires at 5MB RAM for itself.
- The Scopus installer automatically creates a "Scopus32"
folder on the top level of the selected disk.
- The Oracle installer automatically creates an "Orant"
folder on the top level of the selected disk.
- Install of Scopus program files:
6 MB of disk space required on your hard drive.
- Install Oracle SQL*Net files:
25 MB of disk space required on your hard drive.
- This application has been tested with SQL*Net 2.1.4.0.4.
SQL*Net 2.0x or later is required.
- On the Scopus login screen, click on "Options" and enter
"SupportTEAMplus" (without the quotes) into the
General->Startup->Package field.
- Use database instance "helpus" to connect to the
test machine and use database instance "helpit"
to connect to the production machine.
- Because the Scopus Client loads the interface environment
when it is started, the client will take about 10
minutes to start if used over a Tether connection at 28.8kbps.
