Hi,

Here are some of my testing findings--11/5/96

1. Installing Scopus from the Web

        *Scopus install.hqx went along fine

*ins-oracle.hqx brought over two files: oracle installer Vice Copy
and oracle-install.hqx
(note the reverse name of what I clicked on: ins-oracle vs.
oracle-install)

When I tried to install the oracle piece, I got a message saying that
"I need an active internet connection. Do not proceed until you have it
(or something like that)." At first I didn't know
what to do, then after calling Mary who told me to ignore that message, I
continued. Then the installation went along smoothly.

Can you check on this message and if it's not needed, can you get rid of it
or tell people to ignore it.

2. I started up Scopus, got the message of the day, clicked on the close
button, and got a blank screen with a menu across top. Can we put
something on the screen like: "To begin, choose a function from the
Helpdesk menu above."

3. The look on the Mac:
        a. the lettering is small.
        b. The word Status falls into the Log field box.
        c. The word Hardware is too big and starts outside of the Machine
Information box.
        d. The tilde ~ doesn't look like a tilde because it's small, looks
like quotation marks.

4. As someone new to Scopus, I looked at the buttons across the top of the
screen and expected the Lookup button to be at the top of the screen also.
But I found it in the Client Information box. Is Lookup important enough
to be with the rest of the buttons?

5. When I clicked on Find Open or Find Log, I got the screen that says
"Only the first 1000 rows will be displayed." The only button I can click
on is OK. Can you add a CANCEL button so I can get out if I want to.

6. I tried to sort the headings in the Find Open Records List but nothing
worked. I clicked on the Control key and then the heading, the Apple key
and the heading, the Shift, the Option. So I need some help on sorting the
headings.

7. I followed the quickie log scenario in the training guide. According
to the guide, I should just click on the New button, enter" quickie" in the
e-mail field, enter information in the Summary field, and click on Close
Log button. A message came back saying that Hardware is required. Is this
so?

8. When I choose New button, the system sticks the word summary in the
field below the Summary heading. The field is not blank for me to start
typing. Can we take it out?

Okay, that it's for now. I have meetings tomorrow but will try to get on
Scopus for a short time.

Esther
