Here is one change I made and a few other thoughts.
CHANGES:
I played around a bit with the File menu in Scopus and added a new item
called "NewExit", which calls the "mit exit" function to unlock records and
then terminate the application. For now, I left the old Exit menu item and
renamed it to OldExit.
I tested this on Windows and it seems to work ok. I did not have time to
modify the File menu on the Macintosh client, thus it only appears on the
Windows.
The idea would be to eliminate the Exit menu (which means a change to page
21 of the training document) and it's one menu item called Exit and use the
Exit menu item under the File menu.
If we agree on this approach, we can add this to the 1.0b8 task list, which
requires removing OldExit and rename NewExit to Exit, add an a File item
for the other clients and test on all platforms.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
Over the past month of testing, I have heard a comment that the screen
looks clutterd. Without attempting to do any redesign, my only suggestion
at this time would be to move items that may not be used often (e.g.
history button?) under a pull down menu.
