As we get ready for training, I have started to review the quality of data,
which is something we need to work on this during the week. As a head
start, I have enclosed the software listing for review.
Enclosed below are two lists. Software category from Filemaker and
software category as it appears in the pick lists within Scopus.
Rob Smyser/Peter Ragone, you can compare the two lists and be prepared to
offer suggestions for the Tuesday tooltime meeting.
For example, The Filemaker category has "Eudora" and the pick list has
"Eudora Pro". "SumMIT" is not in the pick list, but is in Filemaker, same
for "ARA". We need to change either the Filemaker data or the Oracle pick
list.
For example, in the case of Eudora, if a user picks "Eudora Pro" from the
pick list and then tries to search the "Filemaker" data, there are no
entries found. This is due to the not having an exact spelling/case match.
Another example of a problem is "Lotus 1-2-3" (pick list) versus "Lotus
123" (Filemaker).
We need to do also compare other pick lists (e.g. hardware, etc.), but,
these lists are smaller and could be done later.
