I wanted to report that...
- I installed scopus at home on a 100MHz pentium, win95, and a Motorola
28.8 modem.
- loading scopus over the net took about 11 minutes.
- once it was up, performance was acceptable, although noticeably slower.
One place it's really slow is in generating the dialog box about "successfully
writing changes to log#nnnnn". The problem is worsened by the fact that each
selection from the History Entries field triggers one of these save dialogs.
(It's over the slower speed connections that little time-spenders like these
dialogs really grit the teeth.)
Let's put "menu selectable levels of verbosity" (debug, normal, quiet) on the
list for version 2.
Those are today's thoughts.
