Scopus Implementation
Date: August 9,1996
Working On Milestone:
- Beta phase continues with multiple releases, testing, and assessment
of work required to complete this phase.
- Next release 1.0b4 delayed until week August 12 - 17. Need one week of
parallel testing after initial release.
Accomplishments:
- Resolved issues with Data Probe - ready for evaluation
- Created template for consultants training guide
- Evaluating 1.0b4 problems - possible handle on GPF's, working on fix
- Loaded netinstall Filemaker data
- Continued system administrative versioning, documentation and cleanup
- Notified Scopus of issues with InformTEAM
Goals:
- Release 1.0b4, complete loading data (software lists)
- Begin testing 1.0b4. Schedule testing feedback meeting.
- Demo Data Probe, possible look at other query tools
- Continue to refine contingency planning, rollout issues and SLA
- Resolve issues with production machine ETA, database schedule
Issues:
- Outstanding Macintosh problems, Scopus duplicated problem against our
database. Waiting for a reply. Sent mail on August 7, received reply
that engineering is aware of problems, no new information. Issues
numbers are: 11337 (characters disappear in child entry fields),
11338 (sorting column headings of result sets), 11339 (printing issue).
- Tracking down machine ETA, initially told the monitor was not available.
Other issues may exist for ETA.
- If we are to conduct parallel testing of 1.0b4, it must be released within
sufficient time prior to student transitions on the help desk.
Notes:
- Dependencies to releasing 1.0 include 1. release 1.0b4 and produce a
successful test and 2. create a stable production environment.
