on documentation (programming/business rule document and training doc)
for a few weeks.

deployment, research into third-party products such as report tools.
1. Roundtable
Wade
- Machine status: Update same as last Friday (machine in transit).
Will check with Facilities Management on Thursday August 6.
- Database: Some concerns on "getting a slot" for an Oracle install.
Negotiations underway for a firm commitment. Currently slated for
the week of August 12th.
- Currently, cleaning up the development server, maintaining AFS with
master copy of database scripts, Tcl code, install documents, etc.
Brett has setup RCS to maintain versions of the scripts.

- Call Scopus on Wed Aug 7 regarding Mac status
- Call Facilities Management on Thu Aug 8 regarding machine status
- Coordinate schedule with database services
Other items not mentioned during the meeting:
- Reload the log file to incorporate Brett's 2,000k history field change
- Load the software and os data from Filemaker into Oracle
Brett
- Just started to look at Data Probe, possible use for searching the
history log.
- Worked on reorganization of the tooltime/install directory
- Sent mail to Scopus regarding problems/questions with InformTEAM
- Brett helped with the netinstall filemaker data load, completed 8/5

Tooltime team
- Need to review Lynne's changes. See motd for listing.
2. Decided that those working on the release 1.0b4 implementation will meet
Wednesday 3:30 in 11-401 to review status and assess next steps.
Decided that InformTEAM was not a showstopper for release 1.0. Data
Probe was required in order to allow for ad-hoc reporting and searching.
Lynne stated that Crystal reports is callable from Windows 32bit. She
will double check this and send email to tooltime.
Decided to table the report discussion until further information can
be gathered on a direction between Crystal Report and Brio Query. May
need to consult with data warehouse group. Peter Lee pointed out that
Crystal Reports would have the advantage if Scopus could pass arguments
directly to Crystal Reports. NOTE: Report requirements gathered earlier
in this project are available for review in the project notebook.
Decided to attempt parallel 1.0b4 testing with two pairs of Help Desk
staff. Need to select people that will work on the help desk, netinstall
and housecall logs to ensure adequate testing. Harold to check with
Alicia and the Help Desk staff.
Results from August 7th meeting (Wade, Lynne, Brett):
The meeting on 8/6 did not result in a decision date for the 1.0b4 release.
We met the following day (8/7) to review progress. Lynne reported that
records with a log id of 60004 and 60010 cause a GPF on a backfill. Brett
has also reported a problem on one of the records. Lynne is out the next
four working days (back on Aug. 14). Between now and Tuesday Aug. 13, Wade
and Brett will try a few things such as reload the database. If the GPF's
still exist, Brett, Wade and Lynne will consult on next steps on Wed
Aug. 14. This may involve calling Scopus or backing out the latest changes.
Brett reported on his research with Data Probe. He stated that
Data Probe does not do case insensitive queries. For now, Lynne agreed
to store the history_search (this is a non-display item) field in all lower
case to allow a test of Data Probe to continue. Brett also reported that
he is not aware of which table to update in order to make Data Probe work.
Wade will help locate this table.
Wade will also make some database changes requested from Lynne (increase
the size of a field, change sequence numbers, zero out the touched field).
Due to the GPF's and continuing work on Data Probe, we have pushed the next
target release date for 1.0b4 to Wednesday August 14 5:00 PM.
3. Contingency Planning:
- Baseline operations: 8:00 am through 10:00 PM preferable, with
8:00 am - 8:00 PM possible with advance notification. Database
shutdown and machine shutdown for backups and/or maintenance are
acceptable after these hours.
- Low level outage lasting up to a half day, contingency is to revert
to paper forms. The Help Desk will make sure these forms are
accessible and a process is communicated to using these forms. Using
averages, it is estimated that a half day could result in 50 forms
being created.
- Need to work with Facilities Management on calling procedure to report
problems and understand the service agreement with a third-party for
maintaining the production machine.
- Need to work on calling procedure to report Scopus problems.
- The above information will be reported to Facilities Management for
review and fine tuning.
4. Next Meeting and Proposed Agenda:
Tuesday August 13
10:00 am
16-720
Proposed Agenda
1. Additional thoughts on migration planning, contingency planning and
testing plan.
2. Demo of Data Probe, possible revisit query report issues
3. Planning Issues (release 1.0b4, machine schedule, 1.0 release window)
