Scopus Implementation
Date: August 2,1996
Working On Milestone:
- Beta phase continues with multiple releases, testing, and assessment
of work required to complete this phase.
- Next release 1.0b4 delayed until August 6th, with possible completion of
the beta phase on August 9th.
Accomplishments:
- Continued work on release 1.0b4, as measured against task list.
Emphasis on Netinstall/HelpDesk navigation, bug fixes and InformTEAM for
automated escalation. Also, fixed phone number in student data load,
maintaining first 2,000 characters for searchable history logs.
- Continued preparing for new machine deployment, ETA August 7th.
Goals:
- Release 1.0b4 - including migration of additional Filemaker data
- Begin testing 1.0b4. Schedule testing feedback meeting.
- Prepare for production machine purchasing/delivery on August 7th
- Review SLA requirements and send comments to Facilities Management
- Review Programmer/Business rule documentation
- Clean up development environment and document (started last week)
Issues:
- Outstanding Macintosh problems, Scopus duplicated problem against our
database. Waiting for a reply. Will call next on August 7 if no
response.
Notes:
- There are outstanding items for release 1.0b4, including resolving
InformTEAM (will send mail to Scopus), Data Probe (may be used to
search history field and generate ad-hoc queries). Need to decided
if these items are show stoppers for a 1.0b4 release.
- Some researched category items from the 1.0b4 task list have been
determined to be time consuming to fix (e.g. proper edits of time stamps).
For release 1.0, we will incorporate these items in a training document,
which will allow us to move forward as well as determine the appropriate
solution post 1.0 release.
