Scopus Implementation
Date: May 24,1996
Working On Milestone:
- Transition to implementation phase in progress, next milestone is
completion of first implementation on June 7.
Accomplishments:
- Completed test plan
- Completed initial Scopus Windows 16 bit installer program
- Solaris Scopus client made available via AFS
- Resolved process to continue with backups of E40 development machine
- Warehouse team ported export program to Solaris - needed for automated
warehouse feed
Goals:
- Complete requisition for production machine
- Resolve metadata load problem
- Begin development - complete working main Help Desk screen/function
Issues:
- Scopus QA people working on Macintosh slow performance
(escalated issue on May 9th).
- Load of metadata delayed due to bug, to be resolved week of May 28.
Concerns:
- As development progresses, we need to ensure that the functional
specification and the design specification are updated to reflect
the product being built.
Learning's:
- A number of groups have interest in a tracking solution where email sent
by the customer is stored in a database (e.g. FileMaker, Scopus, Discuss).
The Web may be used as a front-end to format the email message.
There is concern that there may be duplication of effort, especially if
there is a common solution. Unfortunately, the timing of our efforts
and others may overlap.
