Intranet for R/3 is going to take off faster than Internet since the
benefit/cost ratio is much higher for occassional and mobile corporate
users in leveraging the existing system and shortening the information
cycle, especially for sales order, purchase and reqs, and HR.

Intranet (or dial up via RAS) is easier to implement and secure.
Internet access has far more issues to resolve before being adopted by
corporations in how much access or information to publish,
authorization, security of information, and protection from virus,
etc. Also an issue is that many coroprations adopted UNIX (ie SGI,
Sun, HP, etc) as platforms for their WebServers for Internet
applications and 3.1G only support NT.

I would be interested to hear from anyone planning or trying to
connect R/3 to Internet/Intranet to exchange information and ideas. I
would be especailly interested to hear from 2.2 users and others who
would not be supported by 3.1G on NT (i.e. UNIX server required) for
some brainstorming.
