In the FI/CO part of our the overall implementation the approach was to
involve the users to the fullest extent possible. They started by
bringing an experienced accountant (me) who had a strong IT interest to
be the FI/CO track lead. =20

We solicited the input and basically the finance community designed the
SAP FI/CO implementation. The same finance people tested and worked
closely with IT to make sure SAP would support our needs.

Our implementation was not perfect and we=92re still improving, but we di=
d
it in record time and the human side of the change management, in
retrospect, was harmless. No one went screaming out of the building.

Later, once we had the basics up and running, the track lead became the
division accounting manager, thus an experience process owner. That
helps. =20

We also had very strong support form our controller.

The general principles could be found in any change management book.

Good luck.
