Just wanted to let you know that this is very doable. I am using VB to
write a security user manager tool for an R/3 installation. I am using the
SAP Active/X controls that SAP-Tech provides, and I must say that for the
most part I am quite happy with them. They use OLE through RFC calls, and
the response times are very adequate. I am also using an ABAP function when
I have to access "pooled" tables, so there are ways around this limitation.

controls
