Hi,
It depends on the database used by SAP R/3. I have MSSQL and I can access
to my SAP
data from excel, access or others using the ODBC driver for MSSQL Server.
I think that
you can find ODBC drivers for most popular DB systems like oracle, DB2,
etc.
