SAP R/3 background job: how to save automatically the results on an external file?

I have some jobs scheduled, which produce report which can be extracted
using the SM37 transaction. The resulting data shall be imported in an
external database. At the moment I must connect to SAP, login, run the
SM37, export the data and the process the file. It is possible to let
SAP export the data into a standard PATH, in order to avoid the manual
part of the process? If so, I will be able to process the data
automatically without any human action.
