I am currently doing some longitudinal research whose subject is "SAP R/3
Skills shortage", focusing on issues such as:

Is there one?
If so, what form does it take?
Whom does it affect most?
What is its effect on the organization?
What are the solutions adopted by organisations to
   a) attract R/3 skills
   b) keep R/3 Skills
   c) build R/3 skills

Being based at the University of Cape Town, I am really focussing on the
local South African market at this stage, and drawing on sources
internationally for evidence of an (ostensibly) global phenomenon.

But anecdotes, experiences, and pointers to other research studies in this
area would be heartily welcomed, and acknowledged if anonymity is not
requested. Preferably reply off list to steve@infosys.uct.ac.za or
serlank@iafrica.com.
The results of the preliminary investigative study carried out locally will
be available shortly.
TIA
Steve Erlank
