There is a ERP software called Cubic from Fort Lauderdale,
Florida. They based this from QMuzik of South Africa. I'm not sure how
this software will survive. Most of the program logic is within the
database - as stored procedures and triggers. I don't think Transact
SQL can handle the programming demands of ERP. It's good for database
query but that's it. The front end is Visual Basic just to show the
forms, input fields ...very basic. Im telling you, the software has
unbelievable number of bugs...again because its using stored procedure
to run the whole show. Now if you want to put the logic in VB, youre
gonna end up with thick client. i think the architecture is just
stupid. Each environment is a different database so when you upgrade a
software you have to upgrade each database - and again just imagine
how many times they repeat the same stored procedures as its found in
each database. anybody has take on this?
