I am an AS400 "guru" and I would like to share my
experience.

Why change platform at all ? I mean you have AS400:s and you
know what the can do for your business. (Price/performance,
availability, ease of use, integrated OS etc. etc.)

You have also experience of NT so I believe you also have
experience of the availability of that OS.

I'd say that if you have invested in staffing for the AS400
there is no need to change to Unix or NT. The reason people
are mostly talking about Unix and NT is simply because they
do not know of the AS400 system. I do not claim I now a lot
of Unix or NT, I can only say that there is a difference. .
..

I am working as a SAP Basis consultant and still there is NO
platform that is as easy to use as the OS400, take my word
for it. If you want a system that runs with a minimum of
staff (and costs) I'd go for the AS400, all the time.

Best regards

Lars
