I agree with the other respondent. SAP is flexible through its
configuration. I have experience with supply chain management, business
process re-engineering and SAP. The primary benefit of SAP is an integrated
system. For companies that have not dealt with ERP system this can be VERY
INTERESTING! Software selection is a process. Go into the process with an
open mind. There are many alternatives to your company's systems needs.
Food for thought: The benefits of choosing a packaged system versus a custom
developed system is time of development and implementation. SAP has
preconfigured industry solutions that can be speed up your development time.
The SAP software incorporates "best practices" of what should be done. You
can gain some efficiencies without doing a re-engineering project.
