In my never ending quest to understand how I am going to get our company
online with this ridiculous budget.
First I needed to understand the mechanism for communicating with the web
from SAP .. I managed to find some good overviews of how the ITS works ...
Well and good but for my purposes I see some limitations in the way I'd
need to create my site.
I am now looking at RFC's as the answer ... MIT have implemented a nice
'app' using these and I think using RFC's I should have much more control
(if not a lot more work) over controlling my dialog with SAP ... I as yet
have found little info on using RFC's (doesn't surprise me took me ages to
find enough on ITS to make sense of it) Can any-one direct me to some good
information sources or even offer a simple overview how the RFC mechanism
works ..
I am assuming I write a little CGI program that calls a function(RFC)
thatinitiates a transaction in SAP and then I wonder what happens? if it's
areport for instance how does SAP get the data back to me .. what will be
the format (I am assuming there is no template mechanism like ITS) .. these
and more questions I have :-)
