We are in the process of implementing our second phase of SAP and are
considering reducing the number of clients that we are using. We have
a three SID landscape (Dev, Test, Prod) with a training system (TRN)
also. We currently have the following clients in our DEV system:
10 - Master
20 - Configuration/Customizing
30 - Abap development
40 - Security
100 - Sandbox(No changes to repository)
Our Test and Prod system have a master and a 20 for testing and running
our production.
We are considering reducing the number of clients in our development
system to 2, 20 and 100.
My question is does anyone have any experience combining the development
and customizing efforts in one client? What challenges will there be?
Does anyone use a seperate security client? What is potential for
error or disruption to end users if the security client is combined into
a single customizing/development client?
Does anyone operate their implementation or production without a master
client for refresh, if neccessary?
All comments, suggestions and thoughts are welcome.
