We have a SparCenter 2000 with 12-85 MHz CPUs, 3GB RAM, and using
about 120 GB on an EMC. We have FI/CO and MM implemented, have about
230 concurrently users, and run 3 application instances/servers on the
database server (yes, a two-tiered architecture).

The machine seems to run fine, but the OS or hardware has a problem
about one or two times a month. Problem meaning the system crashes in
the middle of a work day or reboots for no apparent reason. We cannot
figure it out, and Sun has not been too helpful. Maybe when we get to
Solaris 2.5 next month, things will get better, at least that is what
Sun says.

Go with the EMC. Last year we had about one Sun disk array problem
per month - which drive bringing in the EMC.
