Transport client to new system

Hi
I have a test/dev. system (40B). One of the clients on this system has to
be moved to our new production system.
I can think of 2 ways to perform this operation but which one is the best :
1. Transport/copy client from test/dev. system to production system.
2. Full offline backup of test/dev. system, restore on production system,
delete all unnecessary client.
