Hello,
a hint for all that are upgrading to SAP 4.0:
The OLE Automation Server ( SAP Assistent )we are using with Visual Basic
must be updated for all clients from 3.x to the new 4.0b version.
There is also a bug in the 16-bit Automation Server:
You can connect but retrieving a function structure ( e.q. RFC_CUSTOMER_GET )
will give the error "datatype not supported".
We send this problem to SAP and they just ( 3-Sep-1998 )
have created a patch ( a new version of AMRFCSRV.EXE )
The 32-bit Assistent version 2.1 of SAP 4.0b is OK.
The version 2.1 delivered with SAP 3.1G has a problem, that
the connection is closed, if the call raised an exception ( e.q. record not
found ).
At www.saptect.com is the Assistent version 3.0Beta which have the problem,
that used objects for Import and Export structures must be set to nothing
after using them or exiting the VB program creates a crash.
