Print and archive of invoice problem

We have setup an output type with storage mode = 3 print and archive.
We now have the following problem.
Archive only works when we first create the invoice WITHOUT the output
type.
Then in a second step we go into the invoice , add the output type and
print it. During this step the invoice is printed and archived.
What we would like to have is that when we create the invoice with the
output
type and then print the invoice should be archived.
What can i check or do to make this work?
