Recommendation for migration, part 1
To be able to fully use locally managed tablespaces, we recommend the
following strategy:
For new SAP installations
Create all tablespaces as LMTS. See also 'LMTS - Guidelines'.
Existing SAP installations with DMTS
New tablespaces should be created as LMTS. Existing dictionary-managed
tablespaces do not need to be changed, they remain (initially) as DMTS.

Since BRSPACE is now available, you should perform the conversion to
LMTS with this program instead of SAPDBA.

So according to that note SAP even RECOMMENDS using LMTS. That above
note contains more information about advantages and about migration.
