I am working for a global company struggling to
implement MRP II. We have a solid SAP/R2 base consisting
of numerous plants which have MRP implemented.
We are considering to use the Sales and Operations
Planning (SOP) module of R3 ontop of this R2 base, since
R2 does not offer enough functionality and SAP will not
develop it further.
The idea is to start from an european or global sales plan
and break it down to product groups and producing plants.
This must than be downloaded to the R2 system.
Many plants produce intermediates which are also sold.
I would be interested in any experiences related to R3/SOP
or to Linking R3 and R2. Is there anybody out there who
is interested to start such a discussion or is there already
an ongoing discussion somewhere ?
