Everyone,
I am looking for companies that are currently using Intel/NT/SQL to support
their SAP installation. Specifically, I would like to talk to your IS
Director about your company's successes/failures attempting to utilize an
infrastructure environment for a company that matches ours.
We are Elmer's Glue, a $140mm consumer products manufacturing organization
located in Columbus, Ohio. We have one manufacturing facility in New York,
one warehouse (Columbus, Ohio) that we own and operate and two public
warehouses. We employ about 125 full time administrative folks and another
200 manufacturing / warehousing people. We take 300-400 orders a day, with
WalMart, KMart, Lowes, Office Max, etc as our main customers. 70% of our
orders come in via EDI, 53% of our invoices go out EDI and 30% of our orders
have ASNs associated with them. We expect to run all of the SAP modules and
utlize r3h.
Our preferred platform is:
Database Environment:
- 1 database server (4/p200 & 512 gb mem)
- 2 application servers (4/p200 & 1 gb mem)
Development / QC environment:
- 1 database server (4/p200 & 512 gb mem)
- 1 application server (4/p200 & 1 gb mem)
Staging (Sandbox) environment:
- 1 combination database / application server (4/p200 & 1 gb mem)
Networking : TCP/IP
Clients : NT 4.0 (desktop) and Windows 95 (laptops)
We are about to begin our SAP project and would be very glad to anyone's
input.
Many Thanks,
Doug McCready
