Hi !

I am a student of "information systems" at the
University of Muenster (Germany).

Concerning R/3, I would like to know if there
are any people in research (or business) who
deal with the problem of systems integration.

System integration means conceptual integration
as well as technical integration. The field I am
interested in at the moment is only the first stage
of conceptual integration.

Since SAP delivers the conceptual schemas of its
software (data and process model) it might be an
idea for information management to build an
integrated model of the enterprise on the basis of
SAP`s and the legacy system`s models.

But schema integration isn`t easy. The only
approaches I know, refer especially to database
schema integration (Batini et al. 1986). In the
days of process modeling, I haven`t read about
the integration of process models.

I would be very glad about every feedback and
response.

Thank you very much for your attention.
