Greetings.

Our company is having problems with some programs using BDC sessions.

One program in particular creates quotations through a batch process.

The problem we are having involves the credit limit of a customer. If
the customer's credit limit has been exceeded, SAP invokes an
information message stating the fact. This message appears after every
items is entered, when a pure service is entered, and when a fast
change of plant is performed.

The main problem for our batch process involves the fast change of
plant. If the quote is created manually and you change the plant
(pressing the F-7 key to copy the plant), a message pops up stating
that the credit limit has been exceeded. You have to respond with an
enter to the message for each item in the quotation. However, in the
batch process an enter AND a F-7 is required for each item. Since our
program only expects to send a F-7 once (as is done manually online)
the batch process dies.

Does anyone know if SAP reacts differently to keystrokes and responses
to system messages in BDC sessions than it does online? Can anyone
think of a possible fix to this problem. We have come up with a
temporary solution that sends the same number of F-7s as there are
items but this is dangerous since sending an F-7 at the wrong place
will cause erratic results.

Also, does anyone know of any sources of information on BDC sessions?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please post or e-mail me at

THANKS!!
