Major Automotive Parts Co. 1992-Present
Consultant
Projects have included production monitoring, freight=20
accounting, export systems., hazardous material handling,=20
communications, cooperative processing between mainframes=20
and midrange (AS/400) systems. Radio Frequency equipment=20
and customizing proprietary software. Some work involved=20
ABAP/4 R/2 and R/3.
Beginning in late May 1995. Phoenix R2 project.=20
The assignment included writing interfaces to send and=20
receive data to plant AS/400's. He was given this assignment=20
because he had previously worked on Goodyear's main R2 project=20
(GENESIS) in a similar capacity.
During the Phoenix project assignment, made=20
changes/modifications to ABAP/4 programs that built=20
transactions to be sent between the mainframe and plant=20
AS/400's. For example. this included extracting information=20
from the material master to be transferred to the remote=20
AS/400=92s, as well as uploading mold inventory, information,=20
which updated the equipment master. While working on this=20
project, studied ABAP/4 extensively and consulted with other=20
SAP consultants, in particular getting well acquainted with=20
database structure and ABAP/4 coding techniques. =20
After setting up the communications software and data entry=20
programs to receive and process physical inventory=20
transactions that would load the inventory, and establish=20
the required material masters, was assigned to test the plant=20
shipping system interfaces to GENESIS. Also was responsible=20
for the conversion of data for the plant legacy shipping systems.

As senior consultant helped clients to design and=20
implement state-of-the-art inventory systems, as well as=20
several other custom systems, such as a meeting and conventions=20
tracking systems for a large association. In addition created=20
own proprietary software package for distributors that=20
provided a low-cost but full-featured system for both=20
wholesale and retail distributors to run their businesses. =20
Negotiated a business partner relationship with IBM=20
Corporation that allowed us to sell and support various=20
mid-range IBM products. Were recognized by IBM as a leader=20
in the distribution industry, won IBM=92s 1990 software sales=20
contest, and he was invited numerous times to speak at=20
IBM and trade seminars on distribution systems and the=20
theory and practice of Inventory Management.
Capital Cigar & Tobacco Company (now Golden-Capital
Distributors) 1977-1987
Director of Management Information Systems
As head of the computer department for this large=20
tobacco and candy distributor, was responsible for all=20
software development and hardware acquisition, as well=20
as a staff of sixteen employees. with an annual budget=20
of up to $2.6 million. The system ran around the clock=20
on two independent but linked IBM S/38 computers. =20
Oversaw two complete system conversions and development=20
of all custom software systems. including all systems that=20
affected day-to-day operations, including warehouse=20
management, inventory control, and financial.

Worked part-time as a consultant for these two real=20

Dimension. Inc. 1975-1977
Program Manager
Was involved in developing and implementing all aspects=20
of Dimension's turn-key order entry system. Was=20
responsible for budgeting and supplying technical assistance=20
for six projects, with a budget in excess of one million dollars.
Supervised ten programmers and five support personnel.
The Yeonas Company 1973-1975
Senior Programmer/Analyst,=20
Aided in the conversion of this multi-million=20
dollar real estate development company from an=20
IBM 1130 to an IBM S/2. Also created a fixed assets system=20
as well as brokerage and construction status systems.

Was responsible for all system development and maintenance=20
for this manufacturing plant. The major application worked=20
on was a materials usage report.
