HUNT SYSTEMS GROUP ANNOUNCES CONSOLIDATION AUDITOR
Financial Consolidation and Reporting Application Based on Arbor's
Essbase Server
ATLANTA, GA, May 23, 1995 - Hunt Systems Group today announced
Consolidation Auditor, a new financial consolidation and reporting application
built using Arbor's Essbase multidimensional database server. Consolidation
Auditor provides the accounting controls of a general ledger with the
maintenance ease and analysis power of a true multidimensional database
engine.
Large corporations typically have multiple sources for their financial
data. Our goal was to create a solution for the finance department that would
enable users to easily maintain and consolidate financial data at any required
level of detail, said Wes Hunt, president of Hunt Systems Group.
With Consolidation Auditor, users can take advantage of automated
consolidation adjustments and elimination journal generation, auditability
and access to a consistent consolidated, financial database using
Excel or Lotus 1-2-3. The age old probLem[ of having reports that use
different sources for the same financial data can be eliminated,
he added.
Unlike other financial consolidation applications, Consolidation Auditor
is not constrained by the number of dimensions of data it consolidates, the
complexity of the equations or the processing speed.
The Consolidation Auditor Solution includes:
* Complete user definition of the consolidation [data
* Simple drag and drop maintenance to restructure summary data levels
(accounts, organization, product/customer, etc.)
* Accounting controls to ensure financial integrity
* Point and click to perform automatic drill-down to any level of data
* Complete journal input, approval and posting controls
* Unlimited currency types and rates with adjustments in local and or
converted currency
* Shared data access via true, client/server architecture
Consolidation Auditor is a powerful financial consolidation and
management reporting solution, said Kirk Cruikshank, vice president of
marketing for Arbor Software. Combining robust accounting controls with
the analytical power and reporting flexibility of Essbase, yields a
cost-effective and highly adaptable solution for large corporate finance
departments. Consolidation Auditor is already in production in a number of
U.S. and international corporations.
We looked at all of the leading vendors in the financial consolidations
marketplace and only Consolidation Auditor provided the flexibility, power and
controls that we needed, said Larry Swanson, vice president of finance of the
Equity Group. Using Consolidation Auditor, today we are performing five
independent consolidations combining 100 to 600 entities each, and data from
10 different financial systems. In one of these consolidations, our quarterly
close has gone from 45 days to 10 days. It has become a real strategic
solution for our company.
Pricing and Availability
Consolidation Auditor is priced based on the number of servers,
adjustment users and analysis/reporting ports plus other options such as
currency. Pricing starts at about $35,000 for five adjustment users and five
analysis ports running on one server.
Hunt Systems' financial applications are marketed in North America and the
United Kingdom by Hunt Systems Group directly, as well as through
marketing arrangements with financial software vendors such as Software
