Hi all Has anybody got a solution to the habit of an ABAP dumping when you
have a break point in a SELECT or a GET and are in debugging mode . The
message is usually INVALID CURSOR (oracle) or some variation on this. Could
one get the actual cursor, save and restore it or is this one of those
"works as designed" problems. SELECT SINGLE is O.K so I assume the
environment is NOT being saved and restored which is something even a
beginning programmer should do on calling procedures.
I am currently using Rel 3.0C.
Has this problem been fixed on release 3.0D
Surely if SAP wants to promote ABAP as an all purpose application
development tool it should at least ensure that the facilities it provides
WORK.
(P.S - anyone thought of using VISUAL BASIC as an alternative front end for
SAP - It would certainly be easier and quicker than using ABAP which is
probably a throwback to old mainframe computer languages such as COBOL etc.
In addition it is highly object orientated and the code can be made much
more secure than ABAP. - I have never really liked the idea of running a
production system using freely available source code anyway.
Ideas ?
Thanx
