Can anyone assist me with a problem we are trying to address in SAP R/3.
We utilise COPA to provide us with our sales information such as revenue,
tonnage, GM etc., but our business master records (such as sales office)
change geographically. Consequently the reports we run refer to old
alignments and to the current alignment. What we need is to be able to
change the existing records in PA to reflect the current structure (like
a relational data base).
I believe that version 3 has a function referred to as "Realignment for
Posted Data", which reads as though it does what we want. Any experienced
opinions in this area would be appreciated. Other than that, I am only
hopeful that some one has experienced the same problem and perhaps
developed an ABAP. If anyone knows of one I would once again appreciate
any information.
The only concern I have is that one option may be to write records to the
data base that negate the existing records and then re write the
preferred record. This unfortunately would triple the number of records
and slow down PA performance (which has already slowed significantly).
Any thoughts would be welcomed.
