The SAP-R3-L list is for discussion of SAP's R/3 software. It is an
E-Mail distribution list which supports multiple threads devoted to
discussion of various aspects of R/3. If you are using or planning to
use R/3, you are encouraged to join the SAP-R3-L list. (Readers who have
access to Discuss meetings at MIT may find it more convenient to join
the "sapr3-list" Discuss meeting which receives this list, rather than
to subscribe directly to this list.)
Both technical and non-technical discussions are welcomed. Neither
product or service advertisements nor recruiting advertisements are an
acceptable use of this list. (However, if you are a user of R/3-related
products, your experiences and comments on those products are welcomed.)
Commercial announcements are not permitted on the SAP-R3-L list.
However, if there is a commercial announcement (for example, stating
that a product or service is available, some positions are available, or
that a person is available for an assignment) elsewhere, a very brief
(i.e. no more than five lines) pointer to that announcement may be
posted so that it can be pursued by interested parties.
The list is hosted at MITVMA.MIT.EDU, so any of the following
commands should be sent in the body of a message addressed to
LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU
To send commands to LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU, you can send an E-Mail
message addressed to LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command as the
first line in the body of the message (or if you want to send more than
one command, the series of commands - one per line - as the first group
of lines in the body of the message).
To receive very brief information about the list, send E-Mail to
LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command
INFO SAP-R3-L
To receive a short file with pointers to the R/3 Frequently-Asked
Questions list and R/3-related web sites, send E-Mail to
LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command
GET SAP-FAQ POINTERS SAP-R3-L
To receive a message explaining the charter and policies of the SAP-R3-L
list, send E-Mail to LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command
GET SAP-R3-L WELCOME SAP-R3-L
To subscribe to the SAP-R3-L list, send E-Mail to
LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command
SUBSCRIBE SAP-R3-L Your-Real-Name
(Your real name should be in the order first name, middle initial(s),
last name - including the spaces you would normally use when typing your
name, but with no quotation marks or special delimiters or separators.)
After you are successfully subscribed, you can set yourself to "digest"
mode, so that you get one big digest each day, rather each separate
message that someone posted to the list. To set digest mode, send E-Mail
to LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the command
SET SAP-R3-L DIGEST
Or, rather than getting a digest containing all the messages, you can
get a daily index listing the subjects of each of the messages which
would have been in the digest, if you had gotten the digest. After
receiving the index, you can order any of the messages that you would
like. To set index mode, send E-Mail to LISTSERV@MITVMA.MIT.EDU with the
command
SET SAP-R3-L INDEX
I hope you will enjoy the discussions on the SAP-R3-L list.
If you have any question about the SAP-R3-L list, you may write to the
list owners at the generic address:
