We are rolling out SAP R3. While most of our users will be accessing the application
over our LAN/WAN we have a few users/sites who will be using a dial-up link. We have a
question concerning printing for these dial-up users. Can SAP print to a printer
attached only to a PC, that is the printer is attached directly to the PC and not to the
network?
It's our understanding that printers used by SAP must be connected to a network and have
an IP address - a situation we won't have with printers attached directly to a PC.
Another way to ask the question may be - Can an SAP client print to a printer connected
to the local PC or alternatively can the print stream be directed to a file that can
later be dumped to a printer?
