3.0C, Problems with CCMS scheduled backups

Hi,
we recently did a Put from 3.0b to 3.0c and since that we expereience problems
doing backups with the ccms on our compaq proliant 4500 (4 x p133), WNT 3.51,
Oracle 7.2.2.
Sometimes backups/archiving redo logs works just fine, sometimes the job
starts, the external program is visible via the resource kit process viewer
but it won't write any logs, job logs or any other debugging information.
Sometimes CPIC communications hang completely systemwide.
Has anybody experienced similar problems ? Did you find reasonable solutions ?
Any other suggestions for backups ?
