hi out there,

i just started wrestling with sap cpi-c.

my problem:
i have a central instance on a nt-server - but the database is
running on a unix-machine. there is nothing but the database on
the unix-machine (especially no sap work process).

i want to start a shell skript on the unix-host out of r/3. trying to
start the skript by planning in a batch-job (sm36) fails. i receive the
error message: cm_ressource_failure_retry, which means, there was a
time-out when establishing the connection.

i am able to start a batch-program on nt, which then executes the
skript using a remote shell. but this is not satisfactory. i want to
avoid the 'detour' across the batch-programm.

another problem: in the shell-skript i want to raise a self-defined
event using tha sapevt-programm. but whatever profile i use - the
event never arrives at the r/3 system.

any ideas?

thanks for your help.

thomas
