First a year ago the quarterly `glossy' Research Penn State
featured my shape visualization research (based in part on
S) on its cover, and now Syllabus has given me fame as a Penn State
classroom teacher/expositor, again using S. I'm overwhelmed!
I've given both S and Minitab demos. Without seeing
the magazine yet, the photo is showing a scatterplot
matrix using S's brush() function running on an SGI. brush()
is a front end to the dynam program of Rick Becker and William Shyu.
(When will StatSci have as a nice a function?)
The data are from a study of swimmers speed and
stroke length at recent Olympics, provided by the Biomechanics
Lab here at Penn State.
Should Syllabus provide an acknowledgement for the software shown?
