I want to read a number of binary files (actually digiitized sound files) in
S+ (on a SPARC system). While there are a number of tools that I could use to
convert them to white space delimited ASCII values, I would rather not add
that burden to the processing.
Is there any reasonable alternative to writing a simple function in C or
Fortran to take the file name as the argument and return a vector of the data
values>
