princomp() loadings

I've recently found out I've been confused about the "loadings" returned
by princomp(), so I thought I'd pass along what I've encountered in case
I can save others some inconvenience. What princomp() returns as "loadings"
are not the quantities that other software packages (e.g., SYSTAT, BMD,
SPSS) produce. Princomp()'s loadings are normalized eigenvectors. The
quantities returned by princomp() as "correlations" are the loadings
produced elsewhere.

Thanks goes to Statsci support for straightening me out on this.
