Thanks to James Handfield and Viswanath Devanara for their prompt
suggestions about the new Object Explorer tool. The upshot of thier
response was to check out the User's Guide again and, sure enough, when
the panic had worn off, the answers were in there. Sure enough, a
clear-headed reading was all I needed. I'm still not sure how to make S+
2K act like the old S+ 4.5 on start-up, but I'm working on that.
To be honest, it is clear that the new Object Explorer will make
keeping track of different projects much easier, once I get the hang of
it. I do wish, however, that MathSoft had written a blurb along the lines
of "Upgrading from S-Plus 4.0 or 4.5 to S-Plus 2000." They have, sort of,
on their Support web page, but it seems rather vague on first reading.
Thanks again to all!

greatest of these is Maybe." -- The original Latin appears to be garbled.
