I've been dealing with a number of developers at UMich and none of them
have mentioned "AFS Kerberos" to me. It was because of UMich's use of a
different string to key algorithm on their Kerberos servers that we
included the CMU patches to iterate over different string to key functions.
This has been working correctly at MIT and UMich. The previously noted
problem of changing a users password at UMich remains. We will be working
on this shortly.

UMich appears to be adapting their applications to use krbv4win.dll and we
have had discussions about their development of an authman.dll that will be
layered on top of the krbv4win.dll. Most of UMich's applications will
normally call the Authman DLL. I expect that once they are ready a draft of
the authman DLL spec will be posted to this list.

I have not been in contact with anyone at Penn State about these issues.

Paul
