It may not be so sinister as fearful vendors. Messages from many lists come
with the reply-to: header filled in with the list name. Most folks (myself
included) lazily just hit the reply button and off it goes to you. Can you
modify the list to put it's name in the reply-to: header?
Of course, this can be controversial as it tends to err on the other side.
Messages that probably ought not go to the list do. Still, as you say,
there is not much traffic yet and this is probably the side to err on.
